1978 Martinique Blue Trans Am
Here is a beautiful 1978 Pontiac Trans Am. The car is a 95% original survivor. The only itmes on this car that are not original is the rims and tires and the radio (and of course the oil and fluids and battery). This is an Original Martinique Blue Trans Am with the light blue deluxe cloth interior. I have all of the options listed below, but for a quick run down, it has the W72 Pontiac 400, Automatic Transmission, Power Windows, Power Locks, Cruise, Tilt, Fisher T-top roof, and more ! The car is an original survivor including the interior and all of the paint and decals. I have alot of the photos listed below so make sure you scroll down to see all of them.
![]() Exterior:
As you can see from the photos below, this Trans Am is in excellent shape. The exterior does not have any dents or dings or major scratches at all. The paint is still nice and shinny and looks good for being 28 years old. All of the molding and emblems are there and look good. The exterior of this car is all original including the paint and decals. With that being said, there are a few small chips on the lower part of the car like the wheels spoilers and a few other small defects around the car, but is in excellent condition for being 26 years old. All of the body lines line up just like they did when it left the factory, the hood, trunk and doors, all open and close just like they should. The doors do not sag and close with two fingers. All of the decals are there and correct and have not been changed. This car also had some extra features on the exterior like the body side modling, door edge guards, and color matched door handle tape which is all listed on the original build sheet.
Interior:
The interior of the car si also in excellent shape. The interior again is all original except for the radio. It has the deluxe cloth Lombardy seats which are still in excellent condition. The door panels, carpet and headliner are also original and in great shape. The dash and center console are not craked or broken and it still even has the original console lid which is not cracked. The interior panels are in good shape, but have un-evenly faded over the years. I have the correct color GM dye to re-dye the apnels to the original color. The car comes loaded with all of the great options like power door locks, power windows (which work great), cruise control, tilt steering column, rear defogger, air conditioning, and deluxe dome light and lamp group just to name a few. Again, all of these options are original to the car and are listed on the original build sheet. The only option that I can think of that did not come on the interior of this car is a power trunk release, but everything else is there and working as it should. All of the gauges function and read true. The only item that I found not to be working is the clock.
Options:
This Trans Am comes highly option for 1978. Not only did it come with all of the interior options mentioned above, but this car also has the high performance W72 Pontiac 400 with automatic transmission and 3.23 posi rear axle. The car came from the California plant. Under the hood is all original including the air intake duct, shaker seal and drain tube, and all of the wiring. Even all of the insulation around the A/C lines and the fuel line (because it is a W72 Pontiac 400) is all original. The car starts and runs with no problems at all. The are no leaks to the car at all. The car idles and drives great and only has 59,000 original miles on it. The transmission shifts well and completements the power of the engine quite nicely. There is a shift kit installed in the transmission which gives you better responses from gear to gear when shifting. Like I had mentioned before, it comes with just about everything performence wise, but did not come with the WS6 handling package. The car originally came with rally rims, but a set of refinished 15x8 snowflakes and new centercaps were installed because there were aftermakret rims on the car. It also even has the original build sheet and glove compartment documents that originally came with the car. There is no rust to this car top or bottom or inside. It is a solid survivor with no rust issues except on the exhaust pipes themselves. In the trunk is also the original spare tire with jack and fisher t-top storage bags. I am sure I am forgetting something so feel free to Email me with any questions.
