This amazing TA here is all matching numbers with mere 78,xxx original miles on the factory matching 403 engine.

This car comes with the original build sheet found under the seat, and original manuals.

The looks of this car in 1979 marked an era, car and driver magazine was right when they wrote down "It will not pass this way again".

The change on the front fascia after 1978 was more than a re-style, was also performance, it think that the looks is unique, it is known that the new shape along with the front lower spoiler helped to keep this car cooler than previous models, what a style! This car looks like a jet , other cars on the road can't compare with the presence of a 1979 Trans Am Special Edition. It emules pure power and muscle. Exterior

The car is all rust free, straight and beautifull. I was told was repainted in the recent years and it shines like a mirror. All the decals are correct and like new, also the gold pinstripes are excellent. Front gold grilles are just perfect, not a single bent, nor a scratch. All glass around is like new, except very , very light scratches in the door glasses, almost not noticeable. Keep in mind that is an old car, and of course have imperfections, but I can assure that looks in showroom condition, even from very close, you will have to look too close to find small defects, but hey all old cars have them, This car is meant to be driven and enjoyed, not a trailer queen.

Interior

Interior is mint, no rips, no tears, no cracks, no spots, no missing seat belt guides, Its just beautifull. The gold wheel is in excellent shape, and the gold swirled dash is one of the best I have seen, It was refinished to look as good as possible and being 26 years old, if you dont know you can't tell its that old. All the gauges work perfect, including the clock is working, unbelievable!

All interior plastics and trims are in great shape, with no fading. Rear tray package is new, and we decided not to install the speakers unless the new owner wants us to do it. why? car has a nice sony CD changer in the dash , but we have original radio that will be included with the car, so it will be up to you to install it if you want 100% original. The A/C blows cold of course ( here you wont find the common phrase used in car ads like ..." A/C needs recharge , or the equipment was removed and is in the trunk, or is missing blah blah..NO, THE A/C BLOWS COLD, the fan blows in all speeds, period!!!) The trunk is immaculate, it has the original mat , original spare tire with the inflator, original Jack, and its rust free and splatter painted.

Engine

As said, is the original matching numbers engine, with 78k miles on it. It is very powerful when you step on it, there are no knocks, no rattles no leaks no smoke and it starts at the first crank. When you open the hood its absolutely clean and looks almost like new, its evident that was extremely babied. It even has decals from factory in the correct places...also has the "ok" stamp on the valve covers done at the factory, just amazing... and of course the flexible hoses for air intake are there, not missing as many cars you see for sale All the front end looks like new, it has been all refinished, so you can rest sure that when you take it to a show you wont be embarrassed.

I can tell that is needed lots of money and time to keep a car in this shape,this car needs nothing to do to it but drive it.

Rims and tires

Car came with the famous wide 15 x 8 snowflake rims. The ones in this car were refinished by www.78ta.com they shine like a mirror, look at the pics. All the metal round wheel caps are there with the intact emblems on it. It has almost 98% new bf goodrich tires. The handeling of this car is impressive, and the looks of muscle car is just breathtaking, if you haven't noticed I love TA's more than any other car on the face of the earth.

Miscellaneous

Taillights are perfect , no cracks . Car has new dual flowmasters, and the original dual chromed tail pipes. All the electric works perfect like headlights, marker lights, brake lights, trunk opener, door locks opener, power windows... all in working order. T tops have very light surface scratches which is normal, and it could be easily buffed with glass polish; and as you know all of them leak a little if you point at them with the hose it is normal and it happens with 99% of all TA's second generation, but , hey didn't you planned to drive it with the t tops off ?

I could keep writing for hours, but to conclude In a nutshell you will get one of the best samples Of 79 Special Edition, this cars will be worth a fortune soon, remember that is a true Y84 car, I will post copy of teh build sheet tomorrow, which by the way is intact...so go ahead and make your dream come true, indulge yourself, life is one!
