1979 Special Edition Trans Am Y84
![]() Just to give you a brief description on this Beautiful Trans Am. It is a One Owner 1979 Special Edition Trans Am with 51,000 Original Miles. It has the 6.6 Liter Olds 403 with the automatic transmission. It is also equipped with all of the extra goodies like t-top roof, power windows and locks, A/C, tilt, etc.. This is one of only 9,874 Special Edition Trans Ams made in 1979 with the Olds 403. So, this car is actually one of only 8% of the total production for 1979.. This car was purchased new and kept by the original owner. It comes with all of the paperwork including the build sheet and original window sticker. It does have aftermarket rims installed, but I can get you the original rims for the car.
Options:
All of the mechanical options work and function like the should. All of the lights, brake lights, and turn signals work with no malfunctioning gauges. This car is decked out with all of the power options. It has the Fisher tops, power windows, power locks, tilt, cruise, air conditioning, and rear defogger. It comes with the Olds 403 and automatic transmission. It has a 2.41 rear end ratio with Posi. Like I had mentioned before, the car does have aftermarket rims on it, but I can get the original refinished 15x7 snowflake rims, or if you would like I can also get a set of refinished 15x8 snowflakes. The car did not come with the WS6 handling package so the 15x7 rims would be correct.
Exterior:
The exterior of the car is in great shape and it is the original paint and decals so they are showing their age. The exterior of the car is solid but the paint is not perfect. There are no dents or dings in the car, just some light scratches.... after all, the car is 26 years old and is all original on the outside. As you can see from the photos, the car is in great shape and all of the wheel flares are there and not cracked, the shaker is unmodified, there are no broken grilles or anything like that. With a new paintjob, this car would be a show winner.
Interior:
The interior of the car is the black custom hobnail cloth and is in excellent condition with no rips and any of the seats, no fading, and no scratches. The dash and the center console has no cracks in it and looks perfect. The headliner is there and not sagging. The dash is still the gold color and not faded or refinished. The door panels are in excellent condition and the handles are not broken or loose like so many others. The carpeting and rear deck shelf are also in excellent condition. Like I had mentioned before, all of the options work on the car like they should.
In a nutshell, you are getting a 1979 Special Edition Trans Am that has had one owner and is in excellent condition. If you want, I can also give you a quote to repaint the car and put new decals back on. With the cost of the car and the cost of the new paint you will still be ahead of the game. This 1979 SpecialEdition would be worth in excess of $20,000 once the paint is done. All of the photos of the car are listed below. If you have any questions or want any more photos that are shown here, please feel free to send me an Email and I will take photos of whatever you want.
