All-American Muscle
Sold
Here is a 1976 Pontiac Trans Am Limited Edition 50th Anniversary with the Pontiac 400 and Manual Transmission. This car has 58,200 Original Miles.  Just to give you a brief description on this Show Winning of a 1976 50th Anniversary Trans Am. It has the Pontiac 400 that is in great shape, and has had a little bit of work done to it. This is a TRUE Limited Edition 50th Anniversary car from 1976 that celebrates Pontiac's 50th year of production. This was actually the first in a long line of Special Edition Trans Ams.  This Limited Edition was the first for the "Black and Gold" paint scheme which was later made famous by the "Smokey and the Bandit" films.  This was also the first year for Trans Am "T-Top" cars.  The T-tops were not installed at the factory, but were shipped to Hurst Performance to have the Hurst Roof installed.  So, not only are you looking at a incredible Trans Am... you are looking at THE Trans Am that started a long line of Pontiacs Special Edition cars. This car comes loaded with, Air Conditioning, Rear Defogger, original radio, Hurst T-tops with Original storage bags, All original manuals, maintenance schedules and warranty information, PHS Documentation, Original Build Sheet, and most importantly Special Edition Y82 Appearance Package.
EXTERIOR:
The exterior of this car is in excellent condition . The paint and all of the decals are new and correctly applied. All of the correct GM Decals and striping is there just like it was from the factory. There are no decal misplacements like you see with so many other Trans Am that have been repainted.  As you can see from the photos below, the reflection of this car is truly amazing.  This car underwent a light restoration to the exterior to remedy the faded paint and decals.  I have all photos of the car before we restored it. The underside, trunk and engine of this car looks as good as the exterior. This is a True Y82 Special Edition Trans Am that shows how True Muscle cars are made.   All of the body panels line up perfectly and they have no dents, dings of scratches anywhere on the exterior of this car.  The original honeycomb wheels are in great shape and are not split or cracked in any places.  As you can see from the photos below, you will definitely have everyone looking your way when you cruise into town.  Everyone will also be looking because you will have one of the biggest smiles on your face as well.  I know I did when I was driving this car around during the restoration process.
ENGINE:
This Trans Am is equipped with the L78 Pontiac 400. The original owner had performed some light work to the engine which includes an Edlebrock intake, mild cam, and Hooker Headers. I will also include the original Intake and exhaust manifolds with the car so that you have all of the original equipment that came with the car.  This engine has some great acceleration and you can rest assured this car runs better than it did when it left the factory floor. This Trans Am with the Pontiac 400 puts out a good amount of horsepower. The car is also equipped with the M21 Close ratio 4-Speed transmission. The combination of this engine and transmission are what driving these cars is all about.  In 1976, Pontiac only made 533 of the 50th Anniversary Trans Ams with the Pontiac 400 and Hurst T-tops.  Most of those cars were automatics, but this car has the 4-Speed tranny which makes it even more rare... and fun to drive.  The photos of the engine below were taken before I replaced the red spark plug wires... they are now black just like Factory.  The car is also equipped with rear defogger, Air Conditioning which works well. It also has the Hurst T-tops with original storage bag, spare tire and canister in the trunk. It also has the original radio which still works great. All of the gauges are functioning as they should. The underside of the car is in great shape for the car being 28 years old. I also have all of the PHS Documentation, Original Build sheet and more.
INTERIOR:
The Interior of this car is also in excellent condition. The front and rear seat have no tears or rips or fading to them. There was a small rip in the drivers seat, so the seats have been replaced all the way around.  The door panels are in excellent condition with no tears or rips in them either. The dash in great shape with no cracks to it. The gold dash bezel is  good condition and really accents the interior of this car.  All of the side panels and trim are in excellent condition as well as the center console and glovebox lid. The headliner has been replaced with new, but the rest of the interior is all original. In fact, it still has the Original GM floor mats in there.  All of the weatherstripping is in excellent condition and was replaced when the car was repainted.
