1970 Trans Am

1070 1/2 Trans Am
Ram Air III Manual
PHS Documentation

Here is a 1970 1/2 Trans Am Ram Air II that is Polar White exterior and Lucerne Blue interior.  The current owner is the 4th owner of the car and has been meticulously maintained it's entire 36 year existence.  This Trans Am was delivered to E. Keoppel Inc. in Tomica, New York and is one of 1,769 Trans Am's made with the Ram Air III engine and manual transmission.
Body:
This Trans Am had it's first repaint in 1996 and has absolutely no scratches, door dings, or any dents.  There is one small area of touch up over the right front fender flare.  The door jambs and under the trunk lid were not repainted at that time.  This paint job was not a perfect concourse paint job, but a VERY nice driver quality with new NOS stripes and decals applied.  All of the body panels look to be original, or if they have been replaced, you would never be able to tell.  All of the panels line up nicely and there are no huge gaps or misalignments.  The chrome bumper is original and in VERY good condition.  Inside the trunk is still original and still in great shape and has the original space saver tire, air canister, jack, and also trunk mat.
Interior:
The interior of the car is in great condition and looks to be mostly original.  The dash is perfect with no cracks or splits of any kind.  The dash bezel is in good shape, but some areas have started to turn yellow because of it's age.  Probably could be cleaned up with not much trouble.  All of the gauges are functioning with the exception of the clock (go figure), but the clock can be repaired for little money.  The seats have no rips or tears and show very minimal wear.  Just take a look at the photos below and see what I mean.  Both of the lap and shoulder belts are in place and function properly.  The center console is in VERY good shape with no cracks or chips or the infamous cigarette burns that seem to be so popular.  It is in very good original shape, but could be re-dyed to look perfect.  The headliner is original, but does have a small sag near the left rear window.  Both the door panels (upper and lower) are in great condition and do not have any cracks to them.  The car is also equipped with the original AM/FM Radio with 8-Track player and yes they do work.  I will include 3 8-Track tapes with the car so you can listen to your hearts content.  The carpet and the correct matching floor mats are there and do not have any holes, rips, or stains in them.  The front and rear windshield are in great shape, but the side windows do have some light scratches to them.  Take them to a professional glass place and I am sure they can be removed.  I tried to take photos of the scratches, but they didn't even show up in the photos.
Engine:
The engine is an Original Date coded Ram Air III engine with the original heads, intake, and carb.  The functional Ram Air scoop does  work well.  The engine does not leak any fluids, does not burn any oil, does not smoke, and runs at a cool 160 degrees.  The car does have a mild cam and idles real well.  The only thing that is missing right now is the radiator overflow bottle.  The original one had a crack in it so I am trying to find a new correct one for the car.  This car starts and runs like a champ.  Driving this car reminded me of what these big blocks were made of in the early years.  The car currently has a Doug Nash 5-speed transmission in it with the stock Hurst Shifter.  So, from inside the car it looks all stock.  I do have a M22 4- speed that will go with that car as well.  The car is also equipped with a steel flywheel and upgraded clutch and the battery was moved to the trunk.  The Original owner adapted the rear WS6 brakes to this car when they came out in 1979.  The emergency brake does work.  The car has also had the body mounts replaced with polyurethane bushings so it rides really nice and smooth when cruising to that local car show.  There are no squeaks or rattles.
Wheels:
The Trans Am does have the correct 8" JW rally rims that are in near perfect shape with the correct PMD centercaps.  But the wheel do not have the beauty rings.  The car has new BF Goodrich Radial on the car with less than 4,000 miles on them.

I highly encourage all serious inquiries to contact me and come personally to see and drive this car to fully appreciate it's condition and driveability.  Driving this car will remind you what it is like to drive a true muscle car again.  I do have some one close to the car that can do a third party inspection on the car BEFORE purchase of the vehicle.  The car is located near Dayton Ohio and can be seen and driven by appointment.  I will include all of the PHS Documents, owner's manual and also a laminated copy of the original dealers window sticker.
